90年代にもとても人気のあったファッション。日本でも「クロップド丈」として人気がありますよね。Croppedとは切り取られたという意味。通常よりも丈が短めに作られており、胴が短く見えることで脚長効果が得られます。

Warm days continue in Niigata, and the fashion worn by people in the city is full of bright colors, which gives you the feel that Summer has arrived. This time, I would like to share 5 fashion terms which are popular overseas.

💛Crop Top
A crop top is an article of clothing that exposes the belly button or midriff. It was popular in the 90’s, and can be tank tops, strapless, or long-sleeve. Is was well known as a “cropped length”. Similar to wearing high-waisted pants, a crop top will also make it look as if your torso is shorter, making your legs look longer in proportion.

Chunky sneakers, also known by other names such as “dad shoes” – the trend comes with many names and in multiple facets. One thing is certain, though, sole units have been getting bigger and footwear design comes with more layers and material than ever. A bucket hat is a hat with a wide and narrow, downward-sloping brim which is worn by both men and women. Typically, the hat is made from heavy-duty cotton fabric such as denim or canvas, heavy wool such as tweed, or sometimes with metal eyelets placed on the crown of the hat for ventilation. It was first adopted as a high fashion item in the 1960s, with subsequent revivals in both street fashion and on the catwalk.

Y2K is an abbreviation for the year 2000. Initially a representation of the millennium computer bug that messed up dates back in 2000, Y2K also refers to the fashion trends and styles of the early 2000s.
It blends the pop culture of the millennium with flashy colors such as neon and vivid, along with kitschy aesthetics to create an Y2K fashion look.

Loud Logos Fashion is the famous fashion trend from the 90s. Loud is a familiar word for “noisy”, but it also means flashy. Wearing Logos on your t-shirts, or even on shorts is a status symbol, and designed filled with logos is so eccentric that you can feel the loudness with your eyes.
Many of these fashion styles had a resurgence, so it’s important to remember that while fashion and trends will continue to change, just as people continue to change, fashion and trends tend to be cyclical as “the more things change, the more they stay the same”.
