皆様、こんにちは⭐️
1月の投稿の話なのですが、 「ペット」や、「ペッティング」という英単語の違いについてお話をさせていただきました。本日は、『英語のオノマトペ』（擬音語・ペットの鳴き声 ）をご紹介いたします。
オノマトペ(onomatopoeia→発音方法:オノマトピーア)は、音や動物などの声、物の状態や動きを表す（擬音表現）の事です。世界中で聞こえる同じペットの鳴き声でも、日本語とはまったく違う鳴き声もあれば、似ている鳴き声もあります。さらに、同じ国でも地域によって違ったりもします。
例えば日本での犬の鳴き声は「ワンワン」となりますが、英語では「woof-woof /ウオフウオフ」🐶。ネコなら「ニャーニャー」→「meow-meow/ミャオミャオ」となります😸。但し、地域によっては更に別なオノマトペの表現法がある場合もあります（例：犬の鳴き声は他にも「arf-arf」や、「bow-wow」等があります)以下が様々なペットの鳴き声です：

Bird/鳥：チュンチュン→英語:chirp-chirp
Frog/蛙: ケロケロ→英語:ribbit-ribbit

Pet sounds “Onomatopoeia“
For the month of January, the Artlingual theme was “pets”. Last time we talked about the difference between “pet” and “petting” but today we will talk about some of the sounds that pets make and how it is different in English.
Words that try to imitate or resemble sounds are called onomatopoeia. What makes this interesting is that although animals make the same sounds all around the world, the way we interpret them is quite different depending on your region.
For example, in Japan🇯🇵, a dog makes the sound”ワンワン” (wanwan) in Japanese, but in English, it makes the sound “woof-woof”. A cat will make the sound”ニャーニャー”(nyanya), and in English it will become “meow-meow”. Below you can see more examples of pet sounds.
