皆さんこんにちは！新潟では桜も散り、ゴールデンウイークが近づいてきましたが、ご予定はいかがでしょうか？🌸🌸🌸
さて、 日本では３月は年度の終わりですね。４月の年度初めや新学期にむけて、皆さん慌ただしい日々を送られている時期だと思います。以前のブログでちらっとお話したことがありますが、フランスの新年度・新学期は９月から始まります。🏫

日本の学校には入学式や卒業式といった行事がありますが、フランスの学校にはそうしたものは一切ありません。事前に指定された教科書や文房具等を用意して学校へ行くとすぐに授業が始まります。📕📗📙
日本では小学生のための通園カバンとしてランドセルを使用しますが、フランスにもランドセルのような通園カバンがあります。それがカルターブル（Cartable）。公立校では主にこのカルターブルかリュックを通園カバンとして使用します。日本のランドセルは６年間使うものですが、カルターブルは子供の成長に合わせて大きさを買い替えていきます。様々な大きさがあり、スタンダードなものからキャラクター付きのものまでデザインも豊富です。🎒

フランスの学校は基本的に教科書や文房具等を学校内に置いていくことができないので、その日使う教科書等を全てカバンに詰め込んで登校します。フランスの教科書やプリントを挟むバインダー等は重量があり、以前からカバンが重すぎると問題視されてきました。カバンの重さのせいで背骨が曲がるなどの健康被害の報告もあります。最近では教科書を電子化するといった工夫がされているところもありますが、まだまだ一部の学校のみです。
日本でもランドセルの重さが問題視されているようですが、どこの国でも同じような問題がありますね。子どもたちの健やかな成長のためにもこのカバン重すぎ問題については早急に解決されるべきだと思います。皆様はどう思いますか？

Hello everybody! The cherry blossoms have begun to fall in Niigata, as Golden Week approaches. Have you made any plans yet?
In Japan, March is considered the end of the year. It’s time when everyone is busy preparing and getting used to the new semester. As mentioned briefly in our previous blog, the new year and semester in France start in September.
While, it seems that Japanese schools have entrance and graduation ceremonies, French schools do not. Classes begin as soon as you go to school, with the textbooks and stationary specified in advance.

In Japan, school bags are used to carry books and anything that is necessary for the lesson. France also has school bags, similar to the ones in Japan, which are called “Cartable”. Public schools mainly use this cartable as a school bag/backpack.
Japanese school bags are used only during elementary school, which is for 6 years, but French school bags change in size as children grow up. They come in a variety of sizes and designs, from standard to those with characters.

Basically, schools in France cannot keep textbooks and stationery in the school, so the students carry everything in their bags, and bring it to school. Textbooks and binders are heavy, and it has long been regarded as a problem in France. There are also reports of health hazards such as bending of the spine due to the weight of the bag. Recently, there are some schools that are digitizing all textbooks, but that is only one part of France.
It seems that the weight of school bags is regarded as a problem in Japan, but there are similar problems in every country. I think that this weight problem should be solved immediately for the sake of the children’s health and safety.
